Serbia - Konstrakta - In Corpore Sano

5 - 312 pts   3 - 237 pts in semi 2
Serbia was represented in Turin by Konstrakta (Констракта) with the song In Corpore Sano (latin for In a healthy body*). The song is written by Ana Đurić  (who is Konstrakta) and Milovan Bošković. Đurić and Bošković are both in the band Zemlje Gruva who have been bringing Serbian reggae and r'n'b since 2007.

In Corpore Sano is a part of a 3-song work Triptih. The full video is here. Be sure to set the translation (cc button). Fascinating stuff. Even Meghan Markle gets a mention.

*The song is sung in Serbian and Latin. It opens with the line "A weak mind in a healthy body" but in Latin and in reverse.

In Corpore Sano was released as a digital single on February 11

The acoustic version was released as a digital single on September 30. It had already been included on the promo.

The version on the official album is slightly different most (but hardly) notable at 1:30. (see comments)

A promo cdsingle (see comments) was issued. I don't know if it has the first or second version. It includes the karaoke and acoustic versions

Brividi (chills) by Mahmood and Blanco, the winner of the 72th Sanremo festival,  was the home entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The song is available as a digital single (2-2-22) and also on this years Sanremo compilation (see below). The original is too long for Eurovision and a revamp/edit was made for Eurovision (and the official album).

Several remixes have popped on the net but the Tony Cralled remix is the first official one so far. (Universal, available through most digitals but it's found under Mahmood Blanco as one (artists) name).
A new remix was released on 13-5: The MEDUZA remix. A promo cdsingle of this mix was issued (Island/Universal)

Moldova - Zdob și Zdub ft. Frații Advahov - Trenulețul

7 - 253 pts   8 - 154 pts in semi 1
Zdob și Zdub were back for another Eurovision adventure. The band who gave us the first ever Moldovan entry in 2006 teamed up with the Frații Advahov (Advahov brothers) for their song Trenulețul (train).

The song is written by the band and the Frații themselves.

The digital single was released on December 22.

A new, more rocky, version (and in a higher pitch) was made for Eurovision. It was premiered on March 27 on Moldovan TV. (Here's the video of that). It has the original lyrics but a few more phrases in English.

By making it to the final de Zdobboys are the first artists to do so. And they did three times in three different decades.

There was some news reports about the lyrics having been changed for the Moldovan final performance. Originally there is/was a reference to the unification of Moldova and Romania (which is unlikely to happen and deemed too political).

The part that translates as "Old country, new country, It's like one, it's like two. Separately, together, It's like two, it's one". was changed but my (non existing) knowledge of the Romanian language let's me down here. If you can help out, please drop it in the comments.
It was changed to a text focussing on the trainride between Chisinau and Bucarest.
The released version (and video) have the original lyrics.

In 2006 Zdob [și] Zdub ended 6th with Boonika Bate Toba.
In 2011 they made it to the final again with So Lucky, read all about that one here at the Düsseldorf Collection.
In 2019 they got rid of the [ ].
